Hello, hello! Hope everyone is enjoying the nice winter weather we got going on right now…no I don’t lol. I do not like being cold, I do not like socks, I do not like pants (most times), I do not like big winter jackets. What I like are sunny skies, 80 degree weather and every chance to wear sandals, dresses and skirts. In my last Featured Look post, I talked about how I stay in color year round. Well, this time, I’m dragging floral prints into winter. Oh! It can and will be done! Today on Featured Look: Florals for winter? Groundbreaking.
And let me just say, if you didn’t get that Devil Wears Prada reference, we have a problem. Loft recently released a new winter collection and of course I was immediately drawn to this colorful, floral sweater. As soon as I saw it, a million styling ideas came to mind on how I was going to incorporate florals into my winter wardrobe.
This sweater is the perfect balance of casual and dressy. It’s obviously made for jeans but you can also wear it with skirts. I paired the sweater with a tulle skirt and floral heels. I wanted to dress up a little bit and play on the print by adding my floral heels. It may be winter, but imma have me my florals for winter, Okurrr!
Places to wear this look:
Brunch, bridal showers, baby showers, engagement parties, blogger events.
What else can I wear it with?
Dark denim jeans, floral or animal print heels or flats. Tapered black or grey sweat pants with sneakers for an edgy street style look. For the office, pair it with pencil skirts, A-line skirts, black or green dress pants.
I love using my personal style to teach others that those old “style rules” are out the window now. You can play up florals at any time of the year by over lapping similar prints or wear head to toe florals if you’re feeling adventurous. (If you do, please tag me in your photo, I want to see it). So yes Miranda Priestly, I will wear florals for winter and yea, sure, it is groundbreaking.
