I recently saw a post on Bianca’s Instagram that read “Makeovers for a cause with Bianca Perez”, featuring top DC makeup artists and I HADDDDDD to attend. I also sent her a frantic S.O.S message about helping me fill in my eyebrows correctly. *It’s my personal struggle every morning to get these things looking right*
Believe me when I tell you it was so worth it to attend Bianca’s makeover workshop. What made it even more awesome was the reason it was called “Makeovers for a cause”. The proceeds from the event were going to an organization established to prevent type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases called IPT Inc. So a day of makeup, delicious goodies and contributing to a great cause, now that’s how I like to spend a Saturday 😉
As Bianca’s eyebrow model, I sat in front of a room full of eager ladies wanting to learn how to fill in eyebrows correctly. Makeup artist Felicia took an angel brush and explained how to pick the right brow color and advised the cardinal rule of eye brow application: DO NOT USE BLACK TO FILL THEM IN! She picked a color that was an in-between with my current hair color and my eyebrows. Felicia took maybe two minutes and poof! I had nicely filled in eyebrows with a great shape.
Bianca had other professional makeup artists explain how to apply foundation, eye shadow and lipsticks correctly while recommending products and brands. The artists were all well educated and very open to answering questions, addressing concerns and had solutions and recommendations for the audience.
The workshop was also a great place to network with other bloggers. I had the pleasure of finally meeting Dani from @blonde_inthedistrcit who I followed on Instagram for a long time and met blogger Vivi of @heartprintandstyle. It was nice to start meeting DC bloggers.
Bianca’s event was a huge success and I cannot wait for the next workshop, which I’m sure you all want to attend: CONTOURING!
Bianca, thank you for the invitation, I had a great time and look forward to more of your events! Keep doing your thang mama!
