TADAAAAAA! lol So after waiting around for the colors to stick and many dips under the bathroom sink, here are my DIY Ombre Hair Results!
First wash and blow dry after the processing.
I used Revlon Frost & Glow Honey Highlighting Kit on the lower half of my hair on top of the Ion red hair color. I know I know, it’s a huge hair care 101 no no and could have gone horribly wrong but luckily I don’t think it did :/ and I’m really happy with the results. I’m doing damage control on the over frying of my hair by using Argan Morracan oil as my leave in conditioner. However, how much do we love Revlon’s conditioner that comes with the box of dye? It’s so amazing on the hair and makes me want to buy boxes of hair dye just to use the conditioner lol.
I’ll be honest and tell you I’ve never dyed my hair red before or done multiple dye jobs in a span of 24 hours so I’d like to consider myself really lucky. I just wanted to try DIY Ombre Hair at home and show you guys it is possible instead of spending tons of money at a salon. It’s still a slow economy after all lol.
Ugh! Straightener static! LOL
I also consulted a lot with the sales associates at Sally Beauty and researched different ways to DIY Ombre Hair. Everyone has different types of hair so if you are going to take the plunge on DIY Ombre Hair, two things 1) do some research and B) totally let me know!
I’m loving my red/brown hair and ready to take on the fall season!
